Hull & East Yorkshire is a conference destination undergoing a dramatic transformation, with over £700m of regeneration work taking place over the next 5 years.

Wilberforce House Museum, the birthplace of slavery abolitionist, William Wilberforce has recently undergone a multi-million pound refurbishment programme. Since re-opening in March 2007 the museum which explores the history of slavery, abolition and the legacy of slavery today, has welcomed over 30,000 visitors and has formed the centrepiece location for several international conferences dealing with modern day slavery issues.

Skidby Mill is Yorkshire's last working windmill, built in 1821 the Grade ll listed, four-sailed tower mill has commanding magnificent views over the beautiful East Yorkshire Wolds. The museum has recently undergone a major refurbishment and now comprises of two galleries which are home to the Museum of East Riding Rural Life, meeting room facilities and a courtyard cafe.

Phase one of the £200m St Stephen's development opens in Autumn 2007. Covering 40 prime acres, it incorporates hotel, retail and leisure facilities, 1500 car parking spaces plus a state of the art transport interchange and will breathe 19th century buildings the hotel will provide luxurious accommodation in an historic setting.

The Institute also boasts a small conference room and an elegant restaurant with south facing cafe terrace.

Late 2007 also sees the opening of the Vue 10 screen multiplex cinema on the Top Deck of the Princes Quay Shopping Centre. The cinema will compliment the range of 75 shops and selection of restaurants and cafés already established in the award winning shopping centre. The Spa Bridlington is the East Coast's premier venue with its Edwardian theatre and 1930's ballroom.

The Spa is currently undergoing an £18m redevelopment programme, when re-opened in late Spring 2008 the refurbishment will enhance the wide range of facilities on offer.
